Car share to help make Lancashire a fresher place to live!
CELEBRATE NATIONAL LIFTSHARE DAY on 9th June by taking part and claiming a FREE car air freshener.
Lancashire County Council is giving away Shared Wheels air fresheners to anyone who visits the car sharing site for Lancashire www.sharedwheels.co.uk and pledges to car share on National Liftshare Day.
The County Council’s Travelwise team will also be giving away Shared Wheels car air fresheners and free advice on car sharing at Lancaster Market Square from 12.00pm-4.00pm on Friday 12th June. You can also come along on the day to find out about other sustainable transport options with information on public transport, walking and cycling in the area.
You can request an air freshener by visiting www.sharedwheels.co.uk and completing the online form (offer is open to existing members of Shared Wheels as well as newcomers to the site and is subject to availability).
Shared Wheels already has over 2,800 members in Lancashire so you can register your journeys and look for matches in a secure environment. The more people who register on the site, the more chance there is of finding a suitable match so register now and start saving money fast.
Andrew Varley, Information and Marketing Manager for Transport at Lancashire County Council said:
“Car sharing is an excellent way to share costs, cut stress, reduce parking problems and prevent traffic congestion. Travelling with others enables you to save up to £1,000 a year on transport costs and even car-sharing once a week will save you money and reduce wear and tear on your car.
“There are over 38 million empty seats on the UK's roads every weekday, so by registering with Shared Wheels and sharing some of your car journeys you will be helping to make our roads cleaner, safer and traffic free.”
